freak weather & FUEL.......

The BBC reports on the freak weather here. That was yesterday and this morning it is bright, dry and all in all a lovely sunday morning. Its kind of weird, because part of me wants to believe that it just rained to mess with the biggest outdoor music event that Ballymena has ever seen. Yesterday was not an ordinary day thats for sure

So we will, perhaps, be talking about yesterday for many years to come but so many people faced far worse circumstances than FUEL did. Homes were flooded and people's lives turned upside down. In the end we still had a great day of music and God was glorified by each band that performed.
By the way, did i say these guys rocked?

Speechless for a second......

Today i saw a young mother struggling with 3 kids as i walked out of town. They were just being kids, messing about and for a split second i felt sorry for her. The very unhelpful gentleman with her was of no use to anyone but i lost all sympathy and nearly had a stroke when she angrily yelped at one of the kids to

"GET THE F*@K UP OFF THE F@*KING GROUND NOW!"

I was speechless for a second!

Big shout out Sunday no 4...........

This week i am 'Big shouting" out to this site. Its one of the sites that Cherith discovered ages ago and now i am hooked to their crazy stories. Yes, the Alfred Hitchcock Birds Barbie Doll is a real product and yes you can have one, pre-order here. Sites like this, with useless information like this are what make the internet great. The wasting of time whilst reading about such nonsense is sublime and for some reason i love it, so Big shout out to Neatorama and all the other sites that are such a beautiful and tasty waste of my time and yours!

New Banner & Todd Bentley.............

I will keep changing my banner every other day if i do not stop myself! It happens when "we" take photo's, i look at them and think "oh there is a banner in that one." So, i have decided that the one that just appeared will be my summer banner. I placed the words "SUMMER 08" on it to remind me! I mean, you would think i had nothing to do really!! I was listening to MUTEMATH and had been reading their album sleeve notes when i started this banner, can you tell?
Anyway, i had my blog break for various reasons. It is good to switch off sometimes, from email, blog and such "addictions." I came back into the "interweb world" yesterday and as i floated around twitter & facebook i came across a group invite on the latter. It was for "The florida healing revival" group, so obviously not being in Florida i skipped that one! On second glance though i was intrigued by the goings on in Florida and apparently many other U.S. cities. Todd Bentley is quite the character.
Andrew Strom has this to say: “Now, I have come across Todd Bentley’s teachings on “How to visit the Third Heaven” before, and I tell you, it is nothing less than Guided Visualization’ taken straight out of the New Age movement. Nothing less and nothing more. It is exactly the same. So, im not sure if we have ever had a good "signs & wonders" debate on supersimbo before! Its somewhat ironic that i just finished reading this book, though i will say that i need to read it again and perhaps think more about the truth contained within its pages. After reading it i felt like the "disgruntled" child of a "fundamentalist evangelical" and had an extreme urge to plant a Church in a local pub. I have since calmed down slightly and am only mildly angry with "us Christians" for being such bozo's.

I feel like i will be coming back to this dude in a later post.....................

Mills, McCartney and the wet lawyer........

Suddenly Heather Mills likes the press enough to embrace the media scrum that descended upon her as she left court yesterday. What a change from her deranged rant a year ago! I am also struck by how she is 'very happy' to have received a quarter of what she was allegedly seeking form the divorce settlement. Here is why.....£24.3 million! What can you say to that, damn right she should be happy.
BUT, who cares about that Mill's wingnut, the real question i have is why did McCartney's lawyer leave court with her hair soaking wet?

update: ok we now know that Mills threw water over McCartney's lawyer thus proving yet another time that she is crazy!

Tales from the workplace.....

I shall set the scene for you. I work in a Christian Bookshop, it is called Faith Mission Bookshop and it is not on a busy street in town. This means that if you are a visitor to the shop you will most likely have purposely arrived at our door, you will not be likely to stumble upon us as you browse the shops in town. Even if you missed the shop sign and wandered in you would doubtless hear the music, see the stock on the shelves and realize you were in a Christian Bookshop.
So, i am behind the counter where i sell a customer a book and imagine my surprise when he asks me "so, are you a Christian then?" Perhaps i shouldn't be surprised by this but i couldn't figure out why someone who was not a Christian would want to work in a Christian Bookshop.

Boeing 777 JUST STOPS in mid air!!

Two engines on a plane that crash-landed at Heathrow failed to respond to demands for thrust, a preliminary report has said.
Despite continued demands for power the Boeing 777 "descended rapidly", landing short of the runway, the Air Accident Investigations Branch (AAIB) said. As the plane struck the ground on Thursday the right landing gear broke off from the wing, the report said. All 136 passengers and 16 crew on the British Airways flight survived. I was off work yesterday and watching the news channel when this started to unfold. The initial reaction suggested that perhaps a terrorist attack was taking place. These fears were quickly brushed aside as the facts came in but it is truly amazing to me that this could happen...............anyone flying soon? If you read more about this check out the Co-pilot's name, he brought the Plane safely to the ground!! What a hero this guy truly is and the name? haha
