Bush coming to Northern Ireland....

The BBC says " US President George W Bush is to visit Northern Ireland next month. The visit follows this month's US investment in Belfast. The details of the presidential visit are still being worked out. However, it is understood that Mr Bush wants to put his seal of approval on devolution." What i would love to know is what that "seal" actually is? Is this a literal "seal" in the style of those old fashioned stamp things that went on mail about 500 years ago? Is it a figure of speech for "good publicity for the goons who are running our country?" If it is about looking good then our politicians have outed themselves as dafter than i thought by inviting this clown to our little land. I guess it is not like he needs an invite to come "visit" your country now does he?

Our Politicians..........

Martin McGuinness has said he would have killed every British soldier in Londonderry in the aftermath of Bloody Sunday, if he had had the opportunity. The deputy first minister and Sinn Fein assembly member was speaking during an interview on RTE on Saturday. "If I had of had the opportunity to kill every single British soldier that was on the streets of Derry I would have killed every single one of them without any difficulty whatsoever."

A few weeks ago McGuinness said this when talking about soap opera's on T.V. "I am appalled at the drunkenness that is quite clear for everybody to see and all of that before the nine o'clock watershed when children as young as eight, nine, 10 and 11 are watching..... I regard that as irresponsible broadcasting and I think something should be done about it."

I love that he is appalled at drunkenness yet not so bothered by the admission of wanting to kill every British Soldier in Derry. Whilst not wanting to get into politics or what is now the history of this nation, i cannot let the opportunity pass without saying that McGuinness is a former terrorist member of the I.R.A. who has never denied his involvement with terrorism and who is apparently quite proud of the part he played in "The Troubles"
You can read about him here

Now, i do not deny that people change, change is good after all but sometimes our politicians should think a little about their past actions and comments before they speak.
