Apple store Belfast Opens

So the Apple store opened in Belfast this morning and i was to be found in a church full of women! I was setting up a bookstall this morning so missed the opening and to be honest i have too much stuff to do today otherwise we may have nipped down later. We will see it soon!! My cousin Nigel was there early, as was Connor who managed to also get into a couple of other people's photographs, here and here! He has also blogged the news here with some of his pictures. I think i see Andrew Saunderson's little bald head in one of Connors Pics also, can you confirm that sir?? Right, i have work to do so im sure we will have more blog news on this story soon.............

Belfast Pride........

In light of the weekend's Pride rally in Belfast i can't help but wonder how effective it is to shout and scream at the thousands of supporters with a Bible in your hand? Pretty much everyone, evidently now sees this as homophobia, regardless of whether it actually is or not. One report suggests that Belfast is "the most homophobic place in the UK or Ireland."

This paragraph made me actually laugh at loud, its so absurd i could not contain myself! It refers to Iris Robinson who has made a name for herself in recent weeks as a huge supporter of Gay rights, see more on that here.

"One member of the public objected to the MP's image being stuck on to the 'Iris' float. At City Hall a born again Christian protester ran in front of the lorry and tried to rip it off. However, he was prevented from doing so by two police officers who wrestled him to the ground."

Evidently this brother does not possess the gift of wisdom, bless him! But, on a serious note, how does this look? What are "christians" saying to the world when they do this kind of thing? I have just got to the chapter on homophobia in this book, how ironic?

Train adventure Tuesday..........

This morning we hopped on the train at 8am and sped to Belfast. Cherith went shopping and i switched trains to hit our warehouse for a web/online meeting. I may blog about that soon! Anyway i was done at lunch time so i zoomed back into the city and met Cherith for lunch and some shopping! Truth is, she had already shopped herself into the ground and i was tired and didn't see anything i wanted so we didn't hang around too long. We had a fun day anyway and the train ride was a hoot

Cherith will no doubt upload some pics of her purchases here, go take a look!

Disclaimer: 'Train adventure Tuesday' will not be a recurring post, maybe, perhaps!
