Dave Walker we salute you................

For a good broad look at what is happening with this Dave Walker/cartoon blog situation go here. In short though, here is the skinny on the whole fiasco;

On the morning of July 22nd 2008 he received a cease and desist letter threatening legal action unless he removed 75 posts from his Cartoon Church blog by lunchtime - i.e., half a day’s notice. These 75 posts had reported the deterioration and alleged mismanagement over a 2 year period in a UK book chain called SPCK, which had been taken over by a company run by Mark Brewer. Dave Walker’s was the main published source reporting the situation, asking questions about the management of the chain, and highlighting the treatment of the employees. (story info from here)

As someone who is in management at a 'large' Christian Bookshop Chain in Ireland it is painful to watch what has gone on at SPCK. So, what can a blogger say? When should we not make comments about certain topics? This is not simple case of someone slandering someone else, Dave has done a fantastic job of reporting the details of something he clearly feels passionately about.
