When Gordon Ramsay dishes up really abusive and crazy comments to people its usually quite funny and often shocking but when he does it with the american contestants on Hells Kitchen.............ahhhh how funny!! Rte Television are showing the latest series right now and its probably been on U.S. tv for ages but i hadnt seen it yet so...............yea Ramsay Rocks! I have posted about the crazy chef before so enough said but how i laughed when he discribed the effect of a really hot dish that one of his unlucky contestants had cooked...........................

I am, of course referring to the new Bob Dylan album which arrived on my doorstep today...........so i hear you ask "whats it like" and frankly its too soon to say! There are a few tracks that have instantly captured my imagination so the first impressions are good. The thing is, Dylans lyrics never cease to amaze me. Even on some of his less than popular albums, his lyrics still stand out as unique. The bonus dvd is class stuff, and mmmmm nice plush packaging........very slick!! Satement retraction................

Ok so i screwed up!! And i am now sitting here with a battery shy iBook!! Hehe..................and so has stevo! So we await the arrival of two new batteries and in the meantime we are plugged into the mains and the iBook has a gaping wound on its backside!! Rough terminology i know but..................tough times call for tough language.

So apologies for the false post below but suck it up folks cuz i dont usually get it wrong!! lol Im not feeling too good today..................bah and was off work, cherith and i went to Pizza Hut and that may have sparked a "jippy gut" ........mmm i dunno. Well, off to bed!

Hot batteries...................

Do you have a 'hot battery' or have you experienced a warm sensation on your lap? If so you may not have had an accident but you might need to check the serial number on your apple product!! If you are indeed using a Dell its most likely you are already nursing a charred knee and trying to figure out why you bought the 'new exploding laptop' from Dell!!
But apple users dont be so smug now that 1.8 million batteries are being recalled!! At a first glance i thought..............awhh crap!! See, i am still a little suspicious of whether apple will remain as cool and more importantly, as stable as time progresses. I was certain that my purchasing an apple would scud the whole company and their products!! Thats what the nasty experience of Microsoft does to the mind of a computer user.............it warps you into believing that the 12 'blue screen of death' incidents in the last week were all somehow your fault! You believe that somehow its all because of you that your P.C. is rubbish!!
So, the arrival of this story about the apple battery recall made me quiver in my converse's!! Had the last 8 months been a dream or good luck? So, trying not to worry............. I kind of cast it to the back of my mind until a person whose initials should be 'B.S' started to 'B.S' about it tonight and so i thought........lets check it out for real and get the real info from apple!!
Lo and behold my little white bundle of 'apple joy' has a model and serial that does not fall into the "give us back your battery' category!! Praise be to the Lord above...............................................so the warm sensation on my lap must be as a result of the bladder infection i didnt know i had!!

Sunflowers Rock.................

As you can see, our sunflower is out and it rocks!!! We have been coaching it now for nearly 2 months and a couple of nights ago it burst into view and woweee we were chuffed!! Now what about its 2 little brothers?? As far as the weather is concerned i reckon, its last chance saloon for the others..............mmm we shall wait and see!!
Wonder what they taste like?
I should add that i did not eat the sunflower...............just messing with ya!!!

If you dont believe me it says so on the bag!! Thing is i never eat it in the morning. Its foolish of the makers to restrict their sales pitch to morning eaters when i can guarantee that the quality of the porridge is just as 'great' in the evening!!

Modern Times by Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan says the quality of modern recordings is "atrocious," and even the songs on his new album sounded much better in the studio than on disc.
"I don't know anybody who's made a record that sounds decent in the past 20 years, really," the 65-year-old rocker said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. Dylan, who released eight studio albums in the past two decades, returns with his first recording in five years, Modern Times, next Tuesday.

Now, i have to start by saying that i love Bob's music, have pretty much all his albums and am slightly nervous about criticising him but his statement about anyone making a record "that sounds decent in the past 20 years"....................Bob, seriously, c'mon now!!!! As we all know there have been many awesome records in the last 20 years, a couple have been Bob's own work! I mean if we are talking technology and sound quality instead of 'musical or lyrical' the surely the quality we have now is more superior than ever? I reckon Bob has stalled in the 60's and 70's and as a result struggles with the current age of technology but im thinking he is wrong............actually I have another theory on Bob's criticism! I reckon he's truly gone barmy..................heres why! he ended his little tirade by saying:

"CDs are small. There's no stature to it."

Huh?? what the?? Bob, are you talking about the quality or quantity or what?...................i love you but you are bonkers!!

Harder to hear...............

Ni Railway services have loads of these new trains on the go now! The ad campaign includes a poster that says "faster trains are harder to hear".......................obviously the noise has been channelled into the carriage now! So, some poor git could get chopped in half by a train if he doesnt hear it coming! (whats he doing on the track anyway) but meanwhile evryone in the train is being deafened by the "faster and harder to hear" train!!! I mean its not like a Jumbo jet and i wouldnt even comment otherwise but the boastful poster kind of forces me to remark!!
Dont they look nice though?



Also this Chinese guy kept the whole carriage amused today with the hideous volume of his phone call for ages...........but yea i suppose he was trying to hear his caller over the noise of the 'quiet train'

The most important news i have to share with you though is that Cherith is now in 'my ego links' with her myspace page.............and oh yes she is blogging on it so please drop by................thats 'cherrysimbo myspace' and she's way smarter and funnier than i am so by promoting her page i am risking losing you all to the superior blogger!! enjoy.................

Digg snobs.............

Digg!! Is it a great idea to let the sites users submit stories and then in turn, decide what stories make the front page of the site? In theory it is a great sounding idea but i quickly learned that it is crawling with 'tech snobs' who spoil the crap out of it for the normal net user. The sort of 'techy' who likes to throw his 'html, java, flash infested brain' around and make the rest of us look like idiots is the sort of person who is getting his stories 'dugg' about 3trillion times a second!!
Ok, maybe its off limits for someone like me, maybe its for 'glory seekers' who just want great site stats? In theory i could submit a great story to digg and if it generates a lot of interest then i could end up with a massive traffic increase...................its pre-meditated stat scavenging at its worst. This is fine if you want to make a career out of your blog but in a lot of cases this wont be the case. I think i will conclude that unless you are a 'tech web geek' who could talk for hours about Linux then stay away from the snobs at digg

Tourette's..................

So, i knew very little about this condition..........ok, id seen a few short documentarys about it but until this years Big Brother i had not heard so much about it. Well, this years Big Brother winner was Pete and yes, you guessed it.........he has Tourettes syndrome...........and well i did think at first that it would do a lot to get the condition in the public eye a bit more, help us to understand that it is really an illness etc etc. I reckon the exposure Pete has given it will be positive and he seems like such a nice guy BUT the friday night final on live tv kinda made me freak a bit. click the picture below to view a clip from one of his diary room trips......



...............yea we watched it and thought "ah crazy tourettes pete, good for him" but i actually thought he was going to explode on live tv at times. His frantic actions scared me a little...................during his time in the house he was fun to watch but as he celebrated on friday night i suddenly felt guilty, here we were...........a whole nation, being entertained by someone with tourette's. Is that good or is it exploitation of the sickest nature? I think the backlash will also prove to be the same as that of dyslexia some years ago...............suddenly kids will shout 'F@*K, SH%T, WANKER' in schools across our land and guess what .............blame tourette's eh? I think the media has a lot to answer for anyway but in these situations do they do what gets viewing figures raised or did they do whats best for Pete and other Tourette's sufferers?

Ballymena Borough Council.......

Yea right!! I probably cannot say what i really think but whats the deal with this crew?
Our "refuse collection men" dropped our 'wheely bin' this morning and it cracked up one side! mmm not so good when you are filling it with rubbish every week! Anyway, my dad phoned the council to explain and yea 'we have to buy a new bin'................yea we have to buy it! NOt the council, not the bozo who dropped it but us!! Thing is.............why do we pay rates? why do we pay taxes? what the fla do we do things legitimately for when the system dumps on us anyway? I mean its only a plastic bin and will likely be about £50 but c'mon what are you guys doin? At the local 'dump' you have to fold cardboard before you can dump it now, the restrictions on what you can and cant dump are daft.....................and its because some ass doesn't want to do his job! Thats it, thats all it is.......................and he knows his rights! And the system gives him what he wants.........................STICK IT TO THE MAN!!!

37 years & counting...........

Wowsers.................Mum and Dad on their Wedding Day in 1969!! Its not an anniversary or anything but i had this picture on my laptop and thought i would post it. I suppose with all the Wedding plans ahead of us and marriage looming large its cool to consider the 37 years that Mum & Dad have been married. What can i say, there is nothing about them or their marriage that would put me off getting "hitched."
I just looked up 1969 on Wikipedia and gosh golly that was a cool year.................heres just a few cool happenings!!

January 12 - Led Zeppelin releases their first album - called Led Zeppelin.
March 2 - In Toulouse, France the first Concorde test flight is conducted.
April 4 - Dr. Denton Cooley implants the first temporary artificial heart.
July 8 - Vietnam War: The very first U.S. troop withdrawals are made.

Here it is!! That Jello nailed to the wall!! Though this Jello is in its 'solid, no water added' form so is certianly more solid. In effect this Jello is more like 'Christianity' in so much as it can be nailed to the wall. The problem comes when you dilute it to a watered down and more wobbly substance.......................eh? Thats when nailing it to a wall gets tricky.............................

Jason Morant's album "Open"...................great stuff! I have been raving about this to loads of people and will play it tomorrow when im stripping wallaper and working at the house again. The songs are really awesome and his voice is just superb but yea yea i know i will shuttup about it now!!
I think il give the social and political commentary a rest for a day or two. The chat about terrorism and anti-terror laws is getting me down a bit. I mean i hate to be the pessimist but its not going to get much better in this little world of ours is it? seriously?? Anyway, go out and buy the Jason Morant album, that will cheer you up for sure..............................amen!

Mad Mental mayhem................

Wow what a crazy nuts weekend! First off was the bomb alert that i posted about yesterday...............crazy! Then last night someone petrol-bombed a house in a neighbouring estate. Its only about 2 minutes from our door!! And the Railway line from Belfast to Dublin was closed because of a suspected device on the track. The real IRA has claimed responsibility for some fire bomb attacks earlier this week in Newry and now has admitted to planting these 2 devices on the Railway tracks.

This all comes on a weekend when prominent Irish Muslim Leader Sheikh Dr Shaheed Satardien said there was an "ocean of extremism" spreading among Muslims throughout Ireland. I have been thinking about this statement and its just slightly worrying that after years of violence and sectarianism we could be on the brink of entering into a whole new era of terrorism......................in saying this i am not classing all Muslims as terrorists but this dude would not make that statement for no reason now would he?
He went on to say that young people were "being torn between two cultures and were, as a result entering into support of terrorism, anti-semitism and hatred of western democracy"

I think the answer is in the above statement dont you?

A Bomb anyone??

A security alert closed off part of the town centre in Ballymena today!!
Army bomb disposal experts carried out a number of controlled explosions about 200yards from the my shop! A suspicious object was discovered at about 1330 apparently.................you know what though? Us Irish/British folks are "Hardcore" and that sort of thing is a "walk in the park!" I mean, we stand at the police barrier and stare at the robot thingy dismantling a "suspect device" and when we discover it was a hoax...........well thats not much good is it!?! Its weird to watch..........i could see the end of the street from my office window and this crowd gathered to watch! huh?

A sore wrist perhaps but not the need for murder and "severed head collecting" Not being much of a Porn expert i cannot say for sure if i have speculated correctly but awh i dunno......................this terrorist, "red alert status" has left my head in a spin so im talking crazy!!

Its too damn early......

So, im at the computer that brought you two weeks of posts back in October!!! Yes im in "that" internet cafe at the train station!!! Its a bit of a crap hole but i cannot be bothered walking anywhere else.......and i dont have time to go somehwere else!!
I have nothing to say and thats becasue i had to get the 7.37 train and im a little bit sleepy right now! My journey was helped by bumping into a guy i know and chatting to him kept me awake on the train................i think we had a mutual appreciation for each others half-sleeping dopiness!! Im a little jealous actually cuz this dude is a graphic designer in the city and sure i love my job but that would be sooo cool...........jammy! lol
right must go, theres a coffee with my name on it here!

trains, stains and stock takes.......

Normally i would buzz online about this time and post about something that either was in my head or just make some dung up but tonight i am being quick!! I have to catch the 7.37 train to Belfast in the morning and then i will spend the day helping with the stock taking in the "big smoke" shop....................so thats well cool!! lol Did some more wallpaper ripping and stripping tonight and im covered in little bits of paper and big stains from the wet paste crap that was everywhere..............oh and some blood stains from the "scraper meets ally finger episode".................careless!!
So, thats about it, if i have some change in my pocket i may post from the coffee shop at the station in the morning...........if indeed i am awake enough to manage that. I actually just noticed that the last few posts were a bit vague and not really in any way interesting so i need to work on that...................mmm i haveb been hanging out at "myspace" a bit too much and to be fair a wee peek at my friends list on it will indicate how much "celebrity ass kissing" i appear to have done!!! Is it impressive?? i dont think so but i like to "network" and its maybe gonna benefit atiG in the future so watch this space on that one............................or watch myspace i should say!!!

We used to go on Caravan holidays!! Crazy absolutely nuts when i think about it now..................but anyway, each week we watch Top Gear with eager anticipation of what the crazy guys will do or say next!!! THis has to be the funniest thing this year and its fitting that iv just posted about Jackass.............its in teh same "ball-park"!!!! We saw the film at the cinema and i made a complete eeejit of myself, laughing too loud, yelling "whoa" and "crap" out loud etc etc but the crowd in the screen that night must have been really conservative and quiet and just scared to laugh!!! ah well i enjoyed the craziness................. cant wait for Jackass 2!!

I was going to discuss what i thought of Madonna's latest daft stage show. I read the story and to be honest i dont find her craziness shocking anymore............tedious would be a better way to describe it so "Madge" go ahead dress whatever way you please, wear a crown of thorns or pretend to be Jesus........but don't ever think its gonna make me buy any of your crap music!!
I wont even grace the post with a link to the story in question!!
Anyway now that iv got that out of the way!!

Bruce Willis will return to the big screen in a fourth Die Hard movie next year, according to reports. The actor, 51, will reprise the role of hard-nosed police detective John McClane in the film, to be called Live Free or Die Hard.
Now this is exciting news, important news that we need to get in a fuss about!! John McClane will don the white vest once again and whip some terrorist ass along the way..................will the bad guy be a distant cousin of "Hans Gruber?"
Will the villain over-act in keeping with the performances of Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons? And will Samuel L Jackson make a guest appearance and shout at McClane as much as he did in the 3rd film?

Who knows and quite frankly it wont matter because it will be great without having to try really hard like that singer doll..................what was her name again? Maradona????

Post-modern floor removal..............

Yea so i have no idea how to "tear" up a wooden floor but it had to be done!!! So a little bit of gentle persuasion with a hammer and the ball was rolling.............so once id started i kinda wanted to finish! So in a flash...............hehe the floor was gone, revealing the concrete that we will maybe carpet! Maybe tile! I dunno but its ready to rock and roll!!
I am not really the most "handy" person around........i dont really do the whole "diy" routine so i figured ripping up the floor was the easy part and any other tricky stuff will have to be left to the experts! The "paid" experts!!

Recently i had been having a "mega-church, purpose driven, seeker sensitive, emergent, post-modern bla bla bla" debate goin on in my brain!! I suppose its my own fault really for reading some of the books that we sell, some of which have caused me to ask serious questions that are warranted. Its funny tough how 2 old geezers on two totally separate occasions but on the same day could encourage me and maybe cause me to pause and be content with where i was and where i am. See, while i am probably viewed as liberal by some folks and to be honest i kinda like it that way, i also am very thankful for the truths that i have been taught. So, i know that in our post-modern times and with many current communicators, "truth" is a dangerous word and something we cannot be sure of but i believe in TRUTH and i believe we can know it.............................some of us do know it and some of us are searching desperately for it but we ALL can have it and know it.
So, thanks to those 2 anonymous old geezers who sparked something today!!

So my Man Utd shirt arrived today..................a fan since 1985.......wow long time eh? Its an addiction apparently!! The highs and the lows of supporting the Worlds "greatest" football club have been an integral part of my life! lol its true!
Anyway, we had fun at the house tonight, planning the work that we need to do. The kitchen is decided and goes in next month and we bought the tiles for the floor which you will see in the gallery. It is so exciting doing all this stuff.............and yes iv said before, its a little scary but im loving it............

These shoes............well they are a bit of a sore subject!! I spotted these and wanted them and damn it ........they only had them in tiny sizes!!! So cherith bought them and i was a little bit jealous!! Still am, cuz i love these shoes.............the coloured stripes are part of the shoes, kinda like ankle warmers!! And they are blokes shoes too!! ah well, maybe il spot a cooler pair another time!!

A woman who was asked to leave Mass because her baby girl was making noise has said she is not happy with an apology from Bishop Patrick Walsh.
Marian Quinn was asked to leave St James' Church in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, two weeks ago after the priest left the pulpit to speak to her.
He warned that the noise would prevent him from giving his sermon.
Mrs Quinn later received a letter from the bishop, but said she was worried about the same thing happening again.
She said she had only been in the church with her 18-month-old for about five minutes when the priest approached her!!

So whatta ya think? Church+Kids sometimes just doesnt work does it but was the Priest being a bit rude??
You know what..............i had a laugh at this anyway!!
